Prof. Asoc. Dr. Albana Plakiqi Milaimi është Dekane e Fakultetit të Shkencave të Jetës dhe Mjedisit në Universitetin “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren.
Ajo ka përfunduar studimet doktorature në “Biologji Molekulare dhe Qelizore” në Universitetin e Tiranës (Shqipëri). Diplomimet e saj të nivelit Master dhe dy programe Bachelor, si dhe një specializim për “Laborant i Lartë Mjekësor”, i ka përfunduar në Universitetin e Prishtinës, në fusha të ndryshme të biologjisë.
Dr. Milaimi ka një përvojë të gjatë akademike dhe kërkimore, duke ligjëruar një spektër të gjerë lëndësh si Biologjia e shtazëve, Gjenetika e pyjeve, Mikrobiologjia, Entomologjia, Toksikologjia dhe shumë të tjera. Ajo ka koordinuar dhe marrë pjesë në projekte kombëtare dhe ndërkombëtare (Erasmus+, UNDP, MESTI) fokusohet në monitorimin e mjedisit, ndikimin e metaleve të rënda në shëndetin ekologjik.
Fushat e saj të kërkimit përfshijnë toksikologjinë mjedisore, bioakumulimin e metaleve të rënda te kafshët dhe bimët, si dhe vlerësimin e bimëve mjekësore. Ajo ka një numër të konsiderueshëm publikimesh shkencore në revista të indeksuara ndërkombëtare, aktive si recensente shkencore dhe ka mentoruar shumë studentë në të tre ciklet e studimeve.
