Prof. Asoc. Dr. Albana Plakiqi Milaimi is the Dean of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences at the “Ukshin Hoti” University in Prizren.

She completed her doctoral studies in “Molecular and Cell Biology” at the University of Tirana (Albania). She earned her Master’s degree and two Bachelor’s programs, as well as a specialization for “Senior Medical Laboratory Technician,” at the University of Prishtina, in various fields of biology.

Dr. Milaimi has extensive academic and research experience, teaching a wide range of subjects such as Animal Biology, Forest Genetics, Microbiology, Entomology, Toxicology, and many others. She has coordinated and participated in national and international projects (Erasmus+, UNDP, MESTI) focused on environmental monitoring and the impact of heavy metals on ecological health.

Her research fields include environmental toxicology, bioaccumulation of heavy metals in animals and plants, and the evaluation of medicinal plants. She has a considerable number of scientific publications in indexed international journals, is active as a scientific reviewer, and has mentored many students at all three cycles of study.
